Central Bureau of Investigation officers of the Police, in cooperation with Europol and the police from Denmark and Spain, arrested a 37-year-old Danish citizen of Polish descent, wanted for leading a drug trafficking gang and the murder of a Polish citizen.
The man had been hiding from law enforcement since 2023 and was wanted, among other things, by a red notice from Interpol.
The spokesperson for the Central Bureau of Investigation, Commissioner Krzysztof Wrześniowski, reported that the 37-year-old had been leading a criminal organization operating in the European Union, Morocco, Colombia, and the United States since at least 2010.
The gang was involved in drug trafficking, including over 3 tons of hashish, 6.5 tons of cocaine, and 350 kilograms of marijuana. Investigators also established that the suspect was involved in the murder of a Polish citizen that occurred in 2010 in Spain.
There were wanted notices and European arrest warrants issued for the man. Since he had been hiding in the United States since 2023, he was also wanted by a red notice from Interpol.
“The culmination of the actions took place in October 2025, when American authorities decided to deport the wanted individual. As a result of extensive, coordinated cooperation between Polish officers, the Police of the Kingdom of Denmark, Europol, and the Spanish Guardia Civil, the 37-year-old was arrested at the airport in Copenhagen,” reported Commissioner Wrześniowski.
At this moment, the detainee is in Danish custody, awaiting extradition proceedings. In the event of a positive resolution, he will be handed over to the Polish justice system to answer, among other things, for his involvement in international drug trafficking and the murder of a Polish citizen.
