Skopje – Now is a period when absolutely nothing can happen in the negotiations with Bulgaria, the Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Hristijan Mickoski, emphasized today, answering a question about the Euro-integrative processes and dialogue with neighboring Bulgaria. Mickoski pointed out that the public is well aware of the Government’s positions, as well as his personal positions, and, as he says, „he would not comment a step more, a step less“.
– Now is a period when absolutely nothing can happen in that process, because as you know we have a period when new seventh in a row, in the last three years, early Parliamentary elections will be held in Bulgaria. Let’s wait for a political government to happen there, to see if there is a desire for dialogue. We are ready to talk, we want to talk and we communicate that to our interlocutors who come from Brussels. Otherwise, as for our proposals, they are publicly known, commented on many times so far, Mickoski said.
Prime Minister Mickoski last night in a TV interview, speaking about constitutional changes, appealed to stop the bilateralization of the Euro-integrative process. He confirmed that on September 19 he will travel to a meeting in Brussels and there the government proposal that is already publicly discussed will be announced. Mickoski says that they will not naively enter into any processes and concessions, without having a clear plan and guarantee.
– And that clear plan and clear guarantee must be a confirmation that will be based on a clear message and clear achievements. We can no longer enter into processes without having a predictable outcome and that is why we are a constructive partner in the process and we say let’s sit together with the government in Sofia and talk and see we have a suggestion. We clearly talk about that proposal, that proposal is not from now. The proposal for delayed implementation is logical, to complete the negotiations, and then we will see what we will do, how we will do it, to see what with the judgments from Strasbourg for the Macedonian community from Bulgaria, to see what finally with the Macedonian identity and language, etc., because if you look at chapters 34 and 35 they are not there… We have many questions that need to be discussed. We are ready, we want to discuss and find a solution, said Prime Minister Mickoski. (September 11)
