Skopje – Unfortunately, at this moment there is no high level of desire for dialogue on the part of neighboring Bulgaria, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski.
As he said, he sincerely hopes that this will change because we are not the only ones suffering damage from the stalled process, but “Bulgaria is also suffering damage, as it is losing time to have a neighbor that is sooner a member state of the EU.”
– This is in their economic, political and national interest, and I believe that there will be reason and rationality among our neighbors … There is a desire in the European Union and in certain member states to help in developing a dialogue aimed at a solution. But I assure our citizens that they should have no concern regarding the positions of the Government – they are completely clear and we will not accept any concessions related to our basic identity markers – our language and our history, said Mucunski in an interview for TV Sitel.
To the question of whether there will be early parliamentary elections, the minister and vice president of VMRO-DPMNE replied that the goal of their party is to complete a full parliamentary mandate.
-That means the next parliamentary elections should be in 2028. But, of course, it cannot be ruled out that some changes may occur because politics is a living matter and there are processes that do not always depend solely on us. At this moment, I think we are closer to having regular parliamentary elections, but we will follow the processes and see in which direction they will move in the coming period, said Mucunski.
