Inclusive education is the way that ensures every child has the space and support to learn and grow as they deserve.
This principle has been the core of the “EU4InclusiveTeaching” project in Albania, financed by the European Union to strengthen pre-university education, launched in 2022 with a budget of 2.3 million euros.
The results achieved so far by the project were discussed at the “Stories of Inclusion” event, where the focus was also broadened regarding the journey and achievements of “EU4InclusiveTeaching”.
The project, which aims to strengthen education in Albania by investing in teachers, support services and the system itself in parallel, lays sustainable foundations for long-term inclusion.
During this project, 15,000 teachers have been trained in inclusive teaching; 348 trainers have been certified to spread this approach at the national level; 550 psycho-social cabinets have been equipped with modern infrastructure; two special schools have been transformed into National Resource Centers.
The project has enabled direct benefits for over 135,000 children through more inclusive learning practices.
The European Union, together with Albanian partners and institutions, continues to support an education where no one is left behind, in line with European standards and the priorities of the integration process. (23 December)
