In the final of the Chopin Competition, pianists will perform the Polonaise-Fantasy op. 61 and – at their choice – one of the piano concertos by Frédéric Chopin: e-minor or f-minor. The pianists will be accompanied by the National Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Andrzej Boreyko. The final auditions will begin on Saturday.
One participant from Poland, Piotr Alexewicz, has qualified for the final of the 19th International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition. Also performing will be: Canadian Kevin Chen, Georgian David Khrikuli, Japanese Shiori Kuwahara, Chinese Tianyou Li, American Eric Lu, Chinese Tianyao Lyu, Malaysian Vincent Ong, Japanese Miyu Shindo, Chinese Zitong Wang, and American William Yang.
In the piano concerts, the pianists will showcase, among other things, their skills in collaboration with the orchestra and conductor.
The final auditions will last until Monday. On that day, late in the evening, we will know the winner.
The 19th International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition runs until October 23. Its organizer is the National Institute of Frédéric Chopin. The Polish Press Agency is the media partner of the competition.

His compositions can be heard, among others, at the Berlin Philharmonic, Musikverein in Vienna, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Royal Albert Hall, and Barbican Centre in London, Salle Pleyel and Paris Philharmonic in Paris, and the National Philharmonic in Warsaw.
Every five years, all of Europe and the world look towards Warsaw, where the International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition takes place. It is one of the most prestigious musical events in the world, attracting talented pianists from around the globe, focusing music lovers on its achievements and promoting the next generations of interpreters of his works.
