Paris – An alliance called “EU AI Champions Initiative” bringing together around sixty large companies and aimed at accelerating “the momentum of artificial intelligence in Europe”, was to be presented Monday at the Elysée to French President Emmanuel Macron, to 15 other European heads of state and government, and to the head of the European executive Ursula von der Leyen.
This initiative brings together major industrial (Airbus, L’Oréal, Mercedes, Siemens…) and technological groups (Spotify, Mistral AI…).
The coalition “aims to engage in a collaborative and constructive exchange with the European Commission and the governments of member states to create a drastically simplified regulatory framework” around this new technology, the statement said.
The first discussions between European leaders and CEOs of the coalition were to take place “immediately” after the presentation of the coalition Monday at the Paris summit. (January 10, 2024)
