Skopje – Euroambassador David Geer believes that the Prespa Agreement, the Ohrid Framework Agreement, and the Good Neighborliness Agreement with Bulgaria, each in different ways, have brought significant benefits to the country and says that this is why it is of great importance for the European Union to work on the full implementation of the three agreements.
– The Prespa Agreement, which is currently under such heated debate, has brought enormous benefits to your country. Trade between North Macedonia and Greece has doubled following the signing of the Prespa Agreement, cultural cooperation has been developed, and communication between the peoples of both countries has strengthened, as well as cooperation between the two countries and military cooperation between the armies of both countries, Geer said in response to a journalist’s question after the opening of the European House in Tetovo.
He emphasized that as a result of the signing of the Prespa Agreement, the perception and position of the country at the international level have been strengthened. Enormous benefits, as he emphasized, also exist from the signing of the Ohrid Framework Agreement and the Good Neighborliness Agreement with Bulgaria.
– Precisely for this reason, it is of great importance to the EU to build on this cooperation and the achievements made so far and to work on the full implementation of all three agreements, which will contribute to faster membership, essentially accelerating the EU integration path of your country, said Geer.
According to the euroambassador, the EU looks forward to the formation of a stable government as soon as possible, which will take all necessary steps for the implementation of all reforms and membership of the state in the European Union. (June 5)
