Paris – With its 27 cubes symbolizing the 27 EU member states, the famous Cube “illustrates the complexity of European issues and the ingenuity required to solve them,” explained Georges Habsbourg-Lorraine, during a hearing before the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee.
It falls within the “perspective” of the Hungarian presidency that has just begun, namely “to embody the spirit of innovation and problem-solving,” the diplomat added.
It was the Hungarian Ernö Rubik who invented this object in 1974, sold worldwide and inspiring methods, books, championships, and even a cartoon.
The presidency of the EU Council is held in turn by the member states every six months. The Hungarian presidency started on July 1. (07/03/2024)
