The delegation of the European Union congratulated Albania for the achievements highlighted by the “OECD IN 2024” in several areas such as anti-corruption, education, and employment.
The EU Ambassador to Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, was present at the conference for the findings of the OECD report on Competitiveness for the Western Balkans 2024, which is a snapshot of the progress made by Albania, measured by a barometer of 15 main components and 440 qualitative and quantitative indicators.
The EU noted that Albanian policymakers should double their efforts in areas where progress has lagged, such as the management of state enterprises, or increasing spending on technology, research, and innovation.
According to OECD IN 2024, Albania scores above the regional average in several areas such as anti-corruption, education, and employment.
