Skopje – Overall bilateral relations, Macedonia’s Euro-integration, as well as the need for a joint regional approach in overcoming global challenges, were the topic of conversation between President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova with her Slovak counterpart Peter Pellegrini on the sidelines of the Climate Change Summit (COP29) in Baku.

According to the Office of Siljanovska Davkova, the Slovak president at the meeting assessed that Macedonia’s Euro-integration is hostage to the bilateralization of the EU enlargement, emphasizing that Slovakia is a strong supporter of the European Union enlargement and Bratislava has criticized the blockade of Macedonia’s Euro-integration at many EU Council meetings.

Siljanovska Davkova emphasized that we highly appreciate Slovakia’s support so far for Macedonia’s Euro-integration path and expressed confidence that mutual assistance will continue in the further part of our accession process to the European Union.

The President expressed satisfaction with the continuous development of Macedonian-Slovak relations and confidence in even more successful and fruitful cooperation in the period ahead. As NATO allies, President Siljanovska Davkova expressed confidence in the continuation of good cooperation in defense and security. (November 12)
