Strasbourg – A number of 16 Romanian MEPs out of 33 voted in favor of sending the agreement with Mercosur to the Court of Justice of the EU.

Among the Romanian MEPs, 12 voted against.

Nine MEPs also voted for the resolution submitted by the Patriots for Europe group to send the agreement to the CJEU, while 13 voted against.

The European Parliament adopted on Wednesday, by a simple majority of votes, a proposal to send the agreement with Mercosur to the Court of Justice of the EU in order to assess the compliance of its content with the EU treaties.

No fewer than 334 MEPs voted in favor of sending the agreement to the Court, 324 voted against and 11 abstained. In total, 669 MEPs voted.
