EU, 70 million euros for social inclusion in Albania
Every child deserves to grow up in a happy, loving, and stable environment.
The European Union Delegation in Tirana joined UNICEF and Albanian authorities to discuss transforming social care institutions into centers for children and their families, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive physically, mentally, and socially.
Through a 70 million euro program for social inclusion, the EU is already helping Albania to offer community-based services focused on children.
Social inclusion is essential while the country approaches EU membership. The European Union Delegation emphasized that it remains fully committed to supporting Albania in building a future where all children grow up in a safe, educational, and caring environment.
During the event in Tirana, the touching story of Elona was presented, showing how families from vulnerable communities often struggle to provide adequate living conditions for their children. “Our role is to ensure that they receive the right support through community-based services, in partnership with local authorities, so that no child is left behind,” said EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato.
