BRUSSELS (ANP) – The approval of a new European Commission has descended into chaos. The center-right EPP, the social democrats, and the liberal Renew are clashing over three candidate commissioners, two of whom are also intended vice-presidents. The candidates are the Hungarian candidate-commissioner Olivér Várhelyi (Health and Animal Welfare), the Spanish Teresa Ribera (Competitiveness), and the Italian Raffaele Fitto (Cohesion policy).
