Podgorica – Czech support for Montenegro on its path to the European Union was emphasized by President Petr Pavel, who today began a two-day visit to this Balkan country. He also wants to establish cooperation in the area of cybersecurity and support trade exchange.
“I believe that EU membership is right not only for Montenegro but also for other countries in the region. And I also believe that it is equally important for the EU to accept all of these countries. We want the region to be safe and prosperous,” said Pavel after a meeting with Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović.
Pavel said that he offered Czech assistance in building institutions and strengthening administrative capacities during Montenegro’s accession process. In addition to strengthening trade or cultural ties and tourism, he also wants to establish cooperation in the area of cybersecurity, with experts from both countries discussing this topic.
