Brussels – The new European Union legislation, unprecedented globally, to regulate artificial intelligence (AI) officially came into force on Thursday, with the aim of fostering innovation in Europe while limiting potential abuses.

“This is Europe’s pioneering framework for innovative and safe AI. It will foster the development of AI that Europeans can trust. It will help SMEs and European startups bring cutting-edge AI solutions to market,” said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on the social network X.
