The European Union Delegation in Tirana held a discussion meeting with civil society partners about the joint work in assisting Albania to move forward on its path to EU membership.
The meeting took place at “Europe House” where present with representatives of civil society was also the European Union ambassador to Tirana, Silvio Gonzato.
The meeting discussed Albania’s benefit from the EU’s confirmed engagement in the region, the acceleration of Albania’s reforms related to the EU, the protection of shared European values, and communication for EU support.
Civil society organizations are at the heart of Albania’s EU membership process, ensuring that reforms bring tangible changes for everyone in a transparent and inclusive way.
“The EU’s support for its partners goes beyond financing – it’s about empowering them to lead change, protect human rights, and drive key reforms. Their voices, expertise, and engagement are essential for meaningful reforms and to ensure that no one is left behind in this transformation,” stated the EU Delegation to Tirana in a social media post.
“As Albania moves forward on its path towards the EU, the European Union will continue to stand by them as we work together to accelerate EU membership,” concluded the delegation. (March 10)
