Present at the inauguration of the Puppet Theater, the EU ambassador to Albania, Silvio Gonzato said that the European Union project for Culture (EU4Culture) is one of the most important for the EU, because it not only restores buildings, but these restorations bring benefits to citizens directly.
“This is about more than just the Puppet Theater. It’s about a building with history and we restore monuments,” said Gonzato.
For the EU ambassador, the integration process is not only about regulations and the economy, but about transforming the entire society, with equal rights that everyone must enjoy.
Gonzato invited Albanians not to lose their identity.
“The strength of the EU lies in diversity,” he emphasized.
“We bring talents, different cultures, and histories. We are not only united but also diverse. All these differences we have come under a common denominator and those are the values of the European Union,” said Ambassador Gonzato.
The building of the National Puppet Theater was built in 1924.
Initially, it served as the seat of the Parliament of Albania.
The historic building of the Puppet Theater now has a consolidated structure, according to the standards of such institutions worldwide. The stage is movable with a lighting system that follows the dynamics of the stage./ /December 26/
