Paris – The French under 30 ready to participate in the European elections on June 9 intend to vote 34% for the candidate of the National Rally (RN, far right) Jordan Bardella, according to an Ipsos poll for the media Brut and franceinfo published on Wednesday.
This result is quite similar to surveys of the whole population, which credit the RN with around 33% of the votes.
It is among the 22-25 year olds that Jordan Bardella, 28 years old, would achieve his best score (38%). Young men (39%) would also be more inclined to vote for him than young women (28%). Afterwards, young people turn to three left-wing candidates: Manon Aubry (LFI, 14%), Raphaël Glucksmann (PS/Place publique, 12%) and Marie Toussaint (Ecologists, 11%).
But their vote is not uniform and varies according to socio-economic criteria: those under 30 looking for a job mainly turn to Bardella (41%) while the wealthiest categories vote 21% for Raphaël Glucksmann. 58% of those under 30 declare themselves abstentionists, probable or potential. (29.05.2024)
