Skopje – Slovenia is a sincere, friendly country, a strong supporter of Euro-integrations, said the President of the Assembly, Afrim Gashi, in a meeting with the special representative of Slovenia for the Western Balkans, Anzhey Frangesh.
As reported by the assembly’s press service, Gashi expressed gratitude for Slovenia’s efforts to appoint a special representative for the Western Balkans, thereby confirming its commitment to the European perspective of the countries of the region, including our country.
– Its efforts to keep the issue of enlargement high on the European Union’s agenda are especially appreciated. The entry of the Western Balkans into the EU should happen as soon as possible, because the Balkans are also Europeans and this is in the interest not only of these countries, but also of the Union itself. In this direction, the issue of constitutional changes as an obstacle to entering the large European family should be resolved as soon as possible, and the reform process should continue. The help and support of the special advisor Frangesh is welcomed as an excellent connoisseur of the Region, the statement said.
Frangesh wished President of the Assembly Gashi successful work in the new mandate, emphasizing that parliamentary democracy is very important.
– The interlocutors left the door open for cooperation, with more frequent meetings and a more active role in the coming period, the statement added. (July 4)
