BELGRADE – The advisor to the Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, Jadranka Joksimović, met with the Slovak MEP in the European Parliament (EP) Vladimir Bilčík, to whom she conveyed the Prime Minister’s commitment that the Government of Serbia retains and strengthens Serbia’s strategic choice of membership in the European Union (EU), highlighting the need to improve the process both in terms of intensifying the reform process on the Serbian side and refreshing the enlargement policy in the EU.
The interlocutors agreed that after the European Parliament elections, it will be important to form a European Commission that understands the significance of the enlargement policy and the completion of the project of peace and stability on the European continent, with concrete actions and steps in that direction, provided that the candidate countries in this sense strengthen reforms towards aligning with the Union’s common sectoral policies, announced the Government of Serbia.
Joksimović also thanked Bilčík for his engagement while he was serving as the rapporteur for Serbia in the European Parliament, amidst not always simple relationships and circumstances, aiming to maintain an open and constructive platform for parliamentary cooperation during the accession process.
