ZAGREB, March 28, 2025 (Hina) – It is the responsibility of the European Parliament to adopt the best decisions for Croatian citizens, which is why they should be shown how they are made, said the President of the Parliament Roberta Metsola on Friday in Zagreb at the opening of the multimedia center Experience Europe.
The President of the European Parliament made her second official visit to Zagreb, on the occasion of the grand opening of the multimedia center Experience Europe, whose goal is to bring citizens closer to the impact of European legislation on everyday life, the work of European Union institutions, and current European topics.
“The better informed we are, the stronger we are both as a society and as individuals, and that is why we want to bring citizens closer to the making of European decisions,” Metsola told officials, citizens, and students gathered.
Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić-Radman agreed, emphasizing that the reliable collection of information and analytical skills are important for lasting peace in Europe.
“Peace, freedom, and progress do not depend only on defense capabilities,” emphasized Minister Grlić-Radman, adding that the war in Ukraine reminds us that “we must never take security and stability for granted.”
Dubravka Šuica, European Commission Commissioner for the Mediterranean, stated that the focus of the European Union is on “predictions, resilience, and collective defense.”
“The European Union is actively building bridges. The Mediterranean was our shared past, but it is also the present, and will be the key to shared prosperity and future,” emphasized Šuica, speaking about cooperation with North Africa and the Middle East and Gulf countries. (March 28, 2025)
