Skopje – Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski met this morning in Ohrid with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who arrived yesterday for an official visit to North Macedonia.

– I had a fruitful and friendly meeting with my Hungarian colleague Viktor Orban. History testifies to our shared aspiration for peace, prosperity, and cooperation. In the past, Hungary was one of the first partners to recognize Macedonian aspirations for independence and sovereignty. For years, the political and economic ties between our countries have been deepening, and today’s meetings only confirm our strategic alliance. Hungary is not only our partner on the European scene but also an example of how a country can successfully balance national sovereignty with global integration, Mickoski wrote on “Facebook”.

An intergovernmental session was also held in Ohrid today and, according to the agenda, a city tour is planned, including visits to the Church of the Holy Mother of God Perivlepta, the Ancient Theatre, and the monastic complex of St. Naum and the laying of flowers at the monument of St. Cyril and Methodius by Prime Ministers Mickoski and Orban.
