Bratislava – The task of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce Eurochambres is to more significantly argue and also act on EU bodies and structures as an advocate of entrepreneurs from all countries and chambers of commerce that are its members. This was agreed upon on Thursday in Bratislava by the chairman of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SOPK), Peter Mihók, and the president of Eurochambres, Vladimír Dlouhý, reports TASR.
Eurochambres brings together 20 million companies in 43 European countries, including Slovakia.
In connection with the role of Eurochambres in strengthening the competitiveness of European enterprises and their protection against large countries in the rest of the world, Mihók and Dlouhý emphasized that an important international forum will be the European Parliament of Enterprises, whose 7th edition will take place next year in November. Representatives from all EU member countries that have their representatives in the European Parliament (EP) are expected to participate.
The number of seats for each eurozone member country depends precisely on the number of its MEPs. If there is interest in Slovakia, SOPK, together with a delegation of entrepreneurs, will participate in the European Parliament of Enterprises, announced the chamber.
Entrepreneurs in none of the EU member countries or Eurochambres are satisfied with the current development, according to SOPK. The problems they are facing need to be solved so that Europe is not in a position where it lags behind other parts of the world.
The European Parliament of Enterprises can be precisely the place where entrepreneurs can present their opinions, demands, and visions of what the business sector and the European economy need to be competitive, SOPK stated in its position.
The current president of Eurochambres, Vladimír Dlouhý, is a former Minister of Trade and Industry of the Czech Republic, president of the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic, and for several years held the position of vice president of Eurochambres. (November 21)
