Skopje – The Assembly, within the framework of the 27th session, ratified the Agreement for the Instrument between the European Union, represented by the Commission, and the Republic of North Macedonia, represented by the Government of North Macedonia, for special arrangements for implementing Union support for the Republic of North Macedonia, in accordance with the Instrument for Reform and Growth.
The total amount of EU support for the Western Balkans within the framework of the financial instrument for reforms and growth amounts to six billion euros.
In accordance with the EU’s planned methodology, the Republic of North Macedonia will be made available 750.4 million euros for the period 2024-2027, divided into tranches, with the first tranche of 51.5 million expected to be received by the end of this year.
The general conditions for disbursement of funds relate to the implementation of fundamental reforms, rule of law, respect for fundamental human rights and freedoms, while the specific conditions are formulated within the framework of the Reform Agenda. (January 29)
