Skopje – Bulgaria has always been open to dialogue with the Republic of North Macedonia and I expect this dialogue to contribute to our cultural proximity, but also to stimulate economic cooperation. We expect North Macedonia to fulfill all its obligations to us and to the European Union, said the President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, today before the meeting with the President of North Macedonia, Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, who is visiting Bulgaria.

According to Radev, the Government of North Macedonia has not yet abandoned the election rhetoric.

– The Government of the Republic of North Macedonia has not yet abandoned the election rhetoric. We need to return to reality, our relations will depend on the concluded agreements, Radev said.

He emphasized that the commitment of the leadership of North Macedonia regarding Corridor 8 will be a clear indicator of North Macedonia’s true European ambitions and for greater connectivity in the region.

– I expect that the expressed desire for dialogue and understanding by President Siljanovska Davkova will remain a consistent policy of the Government of North Macedonia. We will strictly follow the protocol. It is time for my official visit to the Republic of North Macedonia, Radev pointed out.

When asked if there is already such an invitation, Radev replied that this issue will be discussed with the President of North Macedonia. (September 13)
