Skopje – The cooperation between North Macedonia and Bulgaria is now more important than ever, assessed the EU ambassador in the country, Mihalis Rokas at the conference held in the press center of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA) in Skopje, which discussed its project “Europe in the Balkans: Together through knowledge”, supported by the European Commission.
In his address, Rokas pointed out that this event shows the commitment of the two countries to strengthening their bilateral ties and promoting regional development, economic growth, and cultural exchange.
This cooperation, as Rokas said, is a demonstration of the enduring partnership that exists between the two nations and their shared vision for a stable, prosperous, and European future.
Rokas noted that the integration process is not only about gaining membership in the European Union but also about ensuring stability, peace, and shared prosperity for all.
– The European Union has developed a framework for bilateral cooperation with five neighbors of North Macedonia – Albania, Kosovo, Greece, Bulgaria, and Serbia. These partnerships are based on mutual respect, common goals, and a commitment to finding common ground in addressing challenges. There are deep roots in the cooperation between Bulgaria and North Macedonia. It started even before its official institutionalization, with the help of cross-border programs funded by the European Union, said Rokas.
At the conference, among others, there were addresses by the general directors of MIA and BTA, Dragan Antonovski and Kiril Valchev, and the ambassador of Bulgaria in Skopje, Zhelyazko Radukov. (February 13)
