Ljubljana/Copenhagen – Slovenia was admitted to the D9+ group, which brings together the EU’s advanced digital countries, the Ministry of Digital Transformation announced on Friday. With the membership, which was confirmed during the meeting of the group’s member state ministers in Copenhagen, Slovenia will participate even more actively in shaping European digital policy, the ministry emphasized.
The outgoing Minister of Digital Transformation Emilija Stojmenova Duh emphasized the importance of joint cooperation in addressing the challenges of the digital age upon the acceptance into the group. “Together, we can turn these challenges into opportunities for innovation and ensure that no one is left behind in the digital transformation,” she said. According to Stojmenova Duh, membership in the group confirms Slovenia’s commitment to supporting the goals of the Digital Decade and promoting digital innovations, while also contributing to European resilience and competitiveness. At the meeting, Slovenia also joined the signing of a declaration in which D9+ group members highlighted the importance of the topics discussed at the meeting and proposed steps to address them appropriately, the ministry wrote.
The Slovenian government adopted a key document last year, the Digital Strategy of Slovenia 2030, which is aimed at the country’s digital transformation. (September 27)
