Strasbourg – Shootings and bombings in Sweden will be the subject of a special debate in the European Parliament on Monday.
Under the title “The escalation of gang violence in Sweden and strengthening the fight against organized crime,” members will discuss the situation during their session in Strasbourg.
The session, which begins at 5 p.m. on Monday evening, is also expected to start with a moment of silence for the victims of the school shooting in Örebro.
11 people, including the suspected perpetrator, lost their lives in the worst mass shooting in Sweden’s history on Tuesday. There are now no suspicions that it is a terrorist crime. However, no motive has yet been established. The shooting is not linked to gang crime, and the suspected 35-year-old perpetrator was previously unknown to the police.
