Advancing social cohesion by putting people first, providing them with opportunities, and leaving no one behind are important and essential values of the European Union.
The Albanian Government, with the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the expertise of UNICEF, presented the National Strategy for Social Protection 2024-2030.
During the meeting, the parties discussed promoting an inclusive Albanian society by ensuring that the most vulnerable citizens receive the protection they deserve.
The EU supports Albania’s efforts towards aligning with EU standards for a modern, sustainable social protection system for all. Present at the meeting, the head of the EU delegation in Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, stated that Albanian citizens expect to have high-quality, accessible, efficient, and corruption-free public services.
“Joining the EU involves not only aligning laws and regulations but also respecting its core values. The EU is ready to support Albania at every step in implementing its Social Protection Strategy,” said Ambassador Gonzato./ (July 3)
