The successful implementation of judicial reform and proper functioning of the justice sector through expanded inter-institutional cooperation and monitoring remains a priority of the EU in Albania.
Senior representatives of the European Union delegation in Albania participated in the presentation of the new Justice Strategy draft 2024-2030, prepared by the Albanian Ministry of Justice, in close collaboration with other justice institutions.
The strategy aims to align with the country’s EU integration priorities and provides a vision of where Albanian justice wants to be in the next seven years by addressing important issues such as efficiency, quality, access to justice, and transparency.
According to the Albanian Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, the strategy addresses the findings and recommendations of monitoring reports, as well as all recommendations within the framework of the EU membership negotiation process.
“The implementation of the Strategy will require close cooperation and coordination between the various institutions involved, in full respect of the independence of the judiciary. This is also a valid principle for the implementation of justice reform in general, which facilitates effective coordination and cooperation,” said Andre Rizzo, Head of the Political Section, EU Delegation in Albania.
