Romanian police officers and partners on the territory of Schengen member states detected, during the period June 28 – July 4, 2024, 600 persons, 59 vehicles, and 44 documents that were the subject of alerts entered into the Schengen Information System.
Bucharest – On the territory of Romania, 507 persons who were the subject of alerts in the Schengen Information System were located, following the additional exchange of information through the SIRENE Office within the International Police Cooperation Center – General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police.
“Romanian police officers executed 20 European arrest warrants, detected 63 persons reported by member states as having been refused entry or stay in the Schengen area, 208 persons who were sought for participation in judicial proceedings, and 11 persons who were reported missing by partners in Schengen states,” the cited source specifies.
Furthermore, from the territory of Romania, 28 documents were seized, and 51 vehicles sought by partners in the Schengen area were found, for confiscation or use as evidence in judicial procedures.
A number of 93 persons sought by Romanian authorities were identified by foreign partners on their territory, following the exchange of information through the SIRENE Office within the International Police Cooperation Center – General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police.
Of these, 33 were pursued by the Romanian Police based on European arrest warrants, 25 were reported by member states as being refused entry or stay in the Schengen area, another 18 persons were sought for participation in judicial proceedings, and 11 were reported missing by Romanian authorities.
Additionally, foreign partners discovered on their territory 16 documents and 8 vehicles sought by Romanian authorities, for immobilization or to be used as evidence in criminal proceedings. (07.07.2024)
