Skopje – The EU is increasingly showing understanding for our positions and Brussels is stopping using rhetoric such as “take it or leave it,” said the Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Viktorija Trajkov, in an appearance on TV Star.
In the interview, Trajkov highlighted the new moments in relations with the European Union, our arguments in the negotiation process, as well as the reality of bilateralization which is slowing down the progress of the Western Balkan countries.
Additionally, she stressed that a lasting and fair solution is needed to ensure our progress, rather than transitional solutions that would lead to new obstacles.
– Macedonia wants to be part of the EU as a proud, not humiliated member. Identity is a personal feeling that is not negotiated, Trajkov said. She called for support and concrete steps from the EU, in order to overcome Euroscepticism and strengthen relations with the Union. (December 24)
