Connectivity is much more than just infrastructure; it is about creating sustainable partnerships that support peace, stability, and prosperity in the Western Balkans.
During the Tirana Connectivity Forum, the European Union ambassador to
Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, emphasized the EU’s unprecedented support in this field, including €9 billion mobilized through the Economic and Investment Plan and €6 billion allocated to the region through the Reform and Growth Mechanism.
Both of these financial instruments reflect the EU’s commitment to further assisting EU-related reforms and narrowing the socio-economic gap between the Western Balkans region and the EU.
By investing in key areas such as digitalization, energy, and transport, not only is connectivity being improved, but these EU investments are also paving the way for a stronger and more sustainable Europe./ (September 13)
