Specifically, interventions have been made at the 9-year school “Mehmet Babamusta”; the 9-year school and kindergarten “Fiqiri Kurti”; the 9-year school “3 Dëshmorët”; the 9-year school and kindergarten Karpen, Golem, and the Professional High School “Charles Telford Erickson”, Golem.

The municipality of Kavajë is one of the 11 most affected municipalities, where “EU4Schools” has intervened with the reconstruction and/or repair of educational facilities damaged by the devastating earthquake of 2019.

The “EU4Schools” program is funded by the European Union with 75 million euros and is implemented by UNDP in Albania in cooperation with the Albanian government.

So far, in the context of this project, 59 out of 63 educational facilities in 11 municipalities affected by the 2019 earthquake have been completed, impacting the lives of over 25,000 children, students, and teachers. (April 23)
