European day of remembrance commemorates 1944 genocide of Sinti and Roma
Today marks the European Holocaust Memorial Day for Sinti and Roma, commemorating the genocide of these ethnic minority groups during the Second World War. Even today, survivors and other members of the communities continue to face persistent discrimination and difficulties integrating into society.
